cook books & cooking resources we like

….

Our favorite and most often used cook books:

….

Useful, well-designed web resources with an emphasis
on keeping things simple:

culinate.com – in addition to great recipes, tips for eating well, news, food politics, book reviews.

saveur.com – just launched a new site that aggregates recipes from all over the web.  It’s beautiful, easy to search and has a useful  techniques section.

the Minimalist – Bittman’s New York Times column.

Rouxbe – an online cooking school that gets down to basics (some of the content requires a membership fee, but there is a lot of good, free instruction).

Peak Season Map – an interactive guide to what’s in season in your state, with recipes, at Epicurious.
